Manager, Employee Communications & Culture

We are looking for an Manager, Employee Communications & Culture to lead Zalo's Employee Communications, Culture Development, and Employer Branding function.

This role is responsible for defining communication and culture strategies that strengthen organizational alignment, reinforce company values, and create meaningful employee experiences. Working closely with senior leaders, you will translate business priorities, core values, vision & mission into impactful communication and engagement initiatives while leading a team responsible for delivering high-quality programs across the organization.

Beyond execution, we are looking for someone with strong strategic thinking, excellent editorial judgment, and a refined sense of aesthetics - someone who can shape not only what we communicate, but also how Zalo is experienced by employees and future talent.

🤖 What you will do

1. Employee Communications

  • Define and drive Zalo's employee communication strategy, ensuring employees remain informed, aligned, and connected with the company's business priorities, culture, and vision.  
  • Develop communication frameworks, annual roadmaps, and governance to improve consistency, transparency, and organizational alignment.  
  • Partner with senior leaders and key stakeholders to advise on communication strategies, messaging, leadership communications, and organizational initiatives.  
  • Oversee the planning, development, and delivery of communications across internal channels, ensuring content is clear, relevant, engaging, and aligned with Zalo's tone of voice.  
  • Continuously evolve communication channels, content formats, and employee touchpoints to improve effectiveness and employee experience.  
  • Use employee insights, engagement metrics, and communication analytics to identify opportunities and continuously improve communication quality and impact.

2. Culture Development & Employee Experience

  • Shape communication strategies that reinforce Zalo's culture, values, leadership principles, and desired workplace behaviors.  
  • Design and lead culture initiatives that strengthen employees' connection with the organization throughout the employee lifecycle.  
  • Develop company-wide engagement campaigns, storytelling initiatives, leadership communications, and culture activation programs that encourage participation and meaningful employee experiences.  
  • Partner with business leaders to identify organizational and cultural needs, translating them into relevant communication and engagement initiatives.  
  • Support organizational transformation, leadership priorities, and change management through thoughtful communication and employee engagement strategies.  
  • Measure the effectiveness of culture initiatives and continuously refine programs based on employee feedback and organizational insights.

3. Team Leadership & Functional Excellence

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Employee Communications & Culture team, building strong capabilities across communication strategy, content, creativity, and execution.  
  • Set functional priorities, allocate resources, and balance strategic initiatives with operational execution.  
  • Establish effective operating models, processes, and quality standards to improve collaboration, consistency, and scalability across the function.  
  • Manage cross-functional projects to ensure smooth & effective cooperation 
  • Manage budgets, vendors, and external resources to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery.  
  • Continuously explore emerging communication practices, technologies, AI applications, and creative approaches that enhance employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

👾 What you will need

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Human Resources, International Relations, Business Administration, or other related disciplines 
  • At least 7 years of experience in Employee Communications, Internal Communications, Employer Branding, Corporate Communications, Employee Experience, or related fields.  
  • At least 3 years of people management experience, with a proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.  
  • Demonstrated experience developing communication or culture strategies and translating them into organization-wide initiatives.  
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to connect communication, culture, and employer branding to broader business objectives.  
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics into clear, engaging communications.  
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with senior leadership.  
  • Excellent project and program management capabilities.  
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using qualitative and quantitative insights to improve communication effectiveness.  
  • High ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.  

We would especially value candidates who have:

  • A refined sense of aesthetics and strong editorial judgment, with the ability to create communications and experiences that are visually thoughtful, emotionally engaging, and consistent with Zalo's brand.  
  • A strong understanding of design principles, visual storytelling, and user experience across digital communication channels.  
  • Experience building communication systems, governance, or operating models rather than only delivering campaigns.  
  • Experience leading organizational change communications or large-scale employee engagement initiatives.  
  • Experience working in technology companies or other fast-growing organizations.  
  • Experience leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve communication quality, creativity, and operational efficiency.  
  • A portfolio of writing samples or selected communication projects is required as part of the application process.
